I was initially planning on being a casual fan, but then I thought, why not just let it consume my soul instead?
"Never trust a super-spy."
"I used to be a super-spy, Bobby."
"And you were kind of an $%&# back then, weren’t you Logan?"

Oh yeah, lots of bad things had definitely happened this side of the multiverse. This was an alternate version of herself, duh, but it was still herself all the same and Kitty recognised the shiftiness and discomfort—it was how her parents could always tell she’d done something wrong as a kid…Something was definitely up, but Kitty decided not to push it, instead silently phasing into the mansion, following her counterpart to her room.
”Yeah, kinda. We’ve gone through weirder—but it’s still hard to get used to talking to myself, y’know? I feel like this is the first step to going crazy or something.” Not that she actually felt like she was losing her grip on sanity - the multiverse was totally a thing and, therefore, it was logical this sort of thing could happen - but she probably wouldn’t be able to tell very many people this story, either. ”Lockheed the dragon?” At least some things stayed—
Oh. OH. Lockheed was a real dragon? Like, alive? Dragons existed? Well, that was it—this was a far cooler dimension than her own. ”That. Is. So. Awesome! Can I pet him?”
“Oh, I definitely know,” Kitty agreed. This entire situation felt totally crazy. Even with all of the time displacements and meeting the original X-Men as teenagers, meeting herself was definitely topping the list of weird and discomfiting. She raised a hand to slid a finger along the bottom of Lockheed’s jaw as he landed on her shoulder.
“Well, yeah. Technically he’s not actually a dragon, but for all intents and purposes, I think it’s an alright term.” Holding her arm out, Lockheed clambered over her arm towards the other Kitty. “He’s sort of an alien,” she added with a fond little smile.
The little violet dragon chirruped, tilting his head at Kitty as he looked from one to the other with some amount of interest and confusion. Lifting his nose towards the new Kitty, he sniffed her, blinking large eyes before reaching out to take hold of her shirt, little claws clinging as he climbed onto her shoulder and chirped again. While the dragon was capable of speaking, he did not do so often.
“He’s saved my life,” Kitty said softly, rubbing her arm absently as she moved over to the bed and sat down.
He gave her a puzzled look when she took a hold of his arm. “Sure, unless you’re going to use me for a weird science experiment. We’ve all seen how they turn out,” he said with a short smile, curiosity creeping up at the back of his mind.
"Well, it’s not necessarily a science experiment, um, unless you want to look at it that way." Kitty tugged Pietro towards the door of the lab. It opened automatically and she closed her eyes, phasing them both upward through the floor and into the foyer of the X-Mansion. "Okay, so, like, this is my idea—you’re a speedster. How would you feel if you didn’t have to dodge… anything?” Appeal to the inner speed demon.
One of my dream X-men rosters.
This team would take a break from the mutant-mutant in-fighting, instead focusing on superheroing and forcing society to see mutants as heroes, whether it wants to or not.
Emma Frost and Kitty Pryde as leaders, and Beast, Psylocke, Quentine Quire, Young Cyclops, and Armor filling out the rest of the team.
Fun thing I’ve been doing in-between jobs and commissions, which I should get back right about now :P
